Hedz Says: Child Care Policy

Liberals know child care is key to women’s workforce participation, so we made it a priority by signing $7.5 billion over 11 years with the provinces for Early Learning and Child Care programs that would create over 40,000 spaces in the first three years.

Today, we announced funding for 250,000 after school care spaces for kids under 10 years old, 10% of which will be flex care for parents who work irregular hours. A new policy cutting costs of childcare by 10% will benefit one million families and put extra money in their pockets.

Good child care that also helps child development is not just a benefit to women and children, but to the many dads today who are primary child care givers.
